Description
Tuff, the tritagonist of the anime, is the spirited younger brother of Tiff and son of Sir Ebrum and Lady Like, residing in Dream Land’s castle through their political ties. His distinctive appearance features light yellow-orange skin, purple shorts secured by a single diagonal red suspender, and greenish-brown shoes. Bushy hair with orange roots and green-tipped zigzag strands completely conceals his eyes.

Driven by rowdiness and mischief, Tuff thrives on soccer, pranks, and outdoor antics, often directed at King Dedede but sometimes inadvertently disrupting Cappy Town. Though immature and prone to defying authority, he fiercely supports allies like Kirby and Chief Bookem. His impulsive schemes—such as fabricating town crises to bolster Bookem’s reputation or stealing artifacts to aid Tiff—frequently spiral out of control, necessitating others’ intervention.

Relationships shape his journey: he clashes and collaborates with Tiff, balancing her assertiveness with his free-spiritedness. As Kirby’s playful companion, he contrasts Tiff’s protective demeanor, while idolizing Meta Knight’s skill and viewing Chief Bookem as a mentor. His dynamic with King Dedede and Escargoon oscillates between pranks and outright opposition.

Key episodes highlight his chaotic growth. In *Hail to the Chief*, he risks personal consequences to stage emergencies, showcasing Bookem’s worth. *Mumbies Madness* sees him burglarizing Professor Curio’s home for crucial intel, blending recklessness with resourcefulness. Stories like *Flower Power* and *A Dental Dilemma* trace his maturation, including overcoming dental fears after neglecting hygiene.

Tuff appears in all 100 main episodes and the OVA *Kirby 3D*, with consistent design aside from occasional CGI. Beyond the anime, he and Tiff feature as plush dolls in official 30th-anniversary artwork—their first non-anime media reference. Trivia notes his sporadic memory lapses, like misnaming defeated foes, and his limited use of CGI compared to peers.
