Garyuun operates as a Web Knight, a mechanical guardian program defending Magical Gate cyberspace. His primary manifestation takes the form of a pirate galleon ship, complete with an eyepatch, cape, faux wood-grain texturing, transparent galley windows, and individually articulated ball-jointed cannons. This galleon form features electronic strobing lights. Garyuun undergoes a transformation sequence, reassembling into a Chinese dragon mecha configuration.

Initially infected by the Deletloss virus like most Web Knights, Garyuun turned hostile. After defeat and liberation by Kento Yuki and Gladion, he became available for partnership. Jean-Jacques Jacquard, a French student in Japan and galleon ship model enthusiast, volunteered to pilot Garyuun, drawn by the thematic alignment with his interests to fight Deletloss.

In combat, Garyuun primarily fulfills a support role, capable of independent action or combination with other Web Knights. His most frequent tactical integration merges him with the central Web Knight, Gladion; Garyuun's galleon form reconfigures into an artillery emplacement module mounted onto Gladion, significantly augmenting Gladion's firepower. Garyuun also participates in larger group combinations, such as fusing with Gladion, Dragwon, and Daitarion to form more powerful composite entities during critical late-stage battles against intensified threats.

Following liberation from Deletloss, Garyuun displayed initial reluctance and required time to develop trust towards humans. His partnership with Jean-Jacques Jacquard evolved gradually from cautious cooperation into a reliable combat alliance. This growing bond facilitated Garyuun's seamless integration into team strategies. He participated in pivotal confrontations, including engagements against Dark Gladion and the ultimate battle for the Magical Gate's survival, where his artillery capabilities proved strategically valuable, especially when deployed alongside Gladion's evolving forms.
