Description
Gradion originates as a winged warrior from the planet Couria in the Andromeda Nebula, approximately 2.4 million light years from Earth. He earned recognition as the universe's strongest warrior after winning a martial arts tournament within his star system and valiantly defending Couria against an invasion by the entity Deletloss. This battle resulted in the destruction of his home planet, the loss of his physical body, and his transformation into data.
Arriving on Earth, he integrated into the virtual Magical Gate network as a Web Knight program designed to protect children. When a computer virus corrupted other Web Knights and turned them against children, Gradion alone resisted the brainwashing. He sought out Kento Yuki, a fourth-grade Web Diver, to partner with him in combating the virus. Gradion typically manifests as a steam locomotive that transforms into a gladiator-like form.
Throughout their missions, Gradion combines with other Web Knights to enhance his combat abilities. Griffion, Phoenixon, Sharkon, and Jaguaron can attach to his chest as armor or weapon modules. Garyūn serves as an artillery emplacement during these combinations. A significant evolution occurs when he fuses with Wyverion to become Victory Gladion, a form activated only when both Kento and his younger brother Kaito pilot together. This fusion grants the pilots white wings and alters their suits' coloring.
Gradion sustains critical damage during a confrontation with Dark Gladion, suffering memory loss and near dissolution. Kento navigates Gradion's spiritual realm through a web dive, restoring his memories. In the final battle against Deletloss amidst Couria's ruins, Gradion and Kento merge into a singular cyber entity resembling an angel with an elongated lower body. Simultaneously, Gradion manifests a separate datanoid form mirroring his original Courian warrior appearance, equipped with a sword. After defeating Deletloss, he survives the subsequent explosion unharmed.
His core motivation remains protecting children's smiles and upholding justice, shaped by his experiences on Couria and partnership with Kento.
