Description
Formed through Symmetrical Docking (also called Lateral Combination) when the synchronization rate between twin units G.B.R.-02 HyouRyuu and G.B.R.-03 EnRyuu hits 100%, ChoRyuJin (alternatively spelled ChouRyuuJin, meaning Super Dragon God) originates from the anime GaoGaiGar as part of the GGG's Mobile Unit. Initial test runs failed due to the brothers' inability to achieve full sync, but they succeeded during a critical mission to save GaoGaiGar from an EI-07-caused explosion, combining for the first time to deploy the Eraser Head tool.
Classified as a Docking Vehicle Robot, ChoRyuJin stands 28 meters tall, spans 18 meters wide, and weighs 495 tons. Its Super Monocoque frame houses a Connected G-Drive engine generating over 6,000,000 kw maximum output. The Symmetrical Docking sequence requires 39.009 seconds under normal conditions. It achieves a maximum running speed of 195 km/h on land. For space operations, it utilizes the SP-1 Self-Propellant Pack, a 73-ton external booster featuring dual GEPF101-GE21 Plasma Accelerators. This pack provides 58 MN thrust in booster mode and enhances maneuverability via vector nozzles.
Serving as GGG's primary defensive unit specializing in protection and containment, ChoRyuJin employs a Mirror Coating Chestplate for high-risk defense. Its signature Eraser Head tool, deployed in three sizes (standard E-99, larger E-999 L type, gigantic E-9999 2L type), vibrates at ultrasonic speeds to dissipate explosions or energy surges into the atmosphere, preventing collateral damage. Repeated use strains its joints due to operational recoil. Armaments include the Double Tonfa (formed by mounting HyouRyuu's Power Crane and EnRyuu's Power Ladder on its forearms) and the Double Rifle/Freezing Rifle and Melting Rifle. After Ul-Tech Engine retrofitting post-Primeval attacks, these rifles fired Ul-Tech beams instead of thermal projectiles. ChoRyuJin can execute simultaneous full-salvo attacks using all beam weapons. A theoretical ultimate attack, Supernova, designed to use the Chest Thriller and Chest Warmer systems from HyouRyuu and EnRyuu, proved impossible while docked because these systems reposition onto ChoRyuJin's inner legs during combination. HyouRyuu and EnRyuu later used it separately against P-Vater in their undocked forms as a desperate measure, designated "Level Infinite Supernova" in technical specs.
ChoRyuJin sustained the most severe battle damage among the Ryuu family units. Significant incidents include intercepting EI-16's long-range mortar blast, combat against Zonderians Primada and Polonaise, structural compromise after deploying Projectile-X against EI-01, temporal displacement resulting in a crash on Earth from space 65 million years ago, and bisection by Repli-Star GaoGaiGar. During the final conflict with P-Vater, HyouRyuu and EnRyuu suffered critical damage after initiating the separated Supernova attack. Post-destruction, ChoRyuJin was rebuilt and enhanced by "The POWER," an enigmatic energy source. This upgrade replaced its engine with an Ul-Tech Unified G-Drive boosted by "The POWER," yielding uncountable maximum output exceeding 250% and thrust surpassing 185%. It also generated an unidentified protective field termed "The POWER" Field. The origin, character, energy source, and mediation particles of "The POWER" remain undocumented.
A theoretical combination with G.B.R.-05 ShouRyuu to form ShouChouRyuuJin exists in design specifications but was never utilized in GaoGaiGar media. ChoRyuJin also demonstrates interoperability with support vehicles; the supply ship Climber-1 can attach to its back for supplementary power and thrust during extended operations.
