Akamata serves as a member of the Yōkai Army in the third anime adaptation of *GeGeGe no Kitarō*. Specifically aligned with Nurarihyon's faction, Akamata operates within this antagonistic hierarchy alongside the yōkai Chinpo.

The character also appears in the film *GeGeGe no Kitarō: Nippon Bakuretsu!!*. During the widespread chaos instigated by Yato-no-Kami, Akamata is briefly seen among the multitude of yōkai compelled to parade through human cities. This disruption concludes when the human character Hana agrees to accompany Yato-no-Kami, resulting in Akamata and the other affected yōkai returning to their places of origin.
