Description
Miyako Miyamura is a 17-year-old junior at Otobane Academy in Otowa, Japan, standing 162 cm tall and weighing 47 kg, born on September 8. Her parents' bitter divorce during her childhood caused severe emotional neglect as they ignored her during their conflict, ultimately resulting in her living alone after being abandoned by both.

Outwardly, Miyako projects an energetic, outgoing, and unorthodox personality, often acting like a naïve manic pixie dream girl who disregards social norms. This persona deliberately masks deep-seated psychological issues: acute athazagoraphobia—the fear of being forgotten or abandoned—and hidden depression. Her perspective is depicted in monochromatic gray tones, reflecting her emotional state, though she is not colorblind. Despite rarely attending school due to boredom, she achieves top academic rankings in her grade, demonstrating high intelligence.

Her story begins on Christmas Eve when she steals Hiro Hirono's bicycle while chasing a purse thief, leading to their first meeting. They reconnect months later at school, where she aggressively pursues a relationship, recognizing him as a fellow loner. She imposes a condition: Hiro must never forget her, directly addressing her abandonment phobia. This provokes jealousy in Hiro's childhood friend, Kei Shindou, who manipulates events to trigger Miyako's fears. Kei deletes Miyako's text messages to Hiro, causing him to miss a critical date and exacerbating Miyako's insecurity, culminating in her temporarily breaking off the relationship.

Miyako's development centers on overcoming this trauma. She gradually learns to confront her fear of abandonment, leading to reconciliation with Hiro. Their relationship solidifies through a climactic kiss, a pivotal emotional resolution. By the end of her arc, she abandons her false persona, embraces vulnerability, and commits fully to Hiro, indicating significant psychological growth.

Interactions reveal a lack of social skills stemming from her childhood in a "home without sound," where she never learned proper communication. She insists on being called by her first name and exhibits clingy jealousy in her romance with Hiro (her alliterative name is noted trivia). A notable scene involves Hiro considering drawing her nude portrait.

Miyako's narrative concludes within the first season of the anime adaptation, with no substantial appearances in sequels or spin-offs. Her journey remains focused on emotional healing and relationship-building.
