TV-Series
Description
Éclair is a G-Class ES operative of the Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs. She possesses regenerative capabilities enabling her to survive fatal injuries by reappearing in new bodies, each incarnation exhibiting distinct physical traits like varying hair color, eye color, and age progression. Her primary power grants superhuman strength, speed, and nigh-invulnerability. She channels these abilities using specialized lipstick, applied as a psychological trigger through self-hypnotic suggestion; this lipstick transforms into an improbably durable whip or binding tool on surfaces, though she can substitute her own blood in emergencies.
Her extensive lifespan of approximately 250 years encompasses multiple lives, including roles as a revolutionary leader, a doctor's lover during civil war, and a figure forced to abandon an adoptive son due to societal prejudice. Traumatic experiences led to suppressed memories, which resurface during the series, initially causing psychological distress and a fragmented identity manifesting as a darker subconscious. She eventually reconciles these past selves, integrating their experiences into her resolve to oppose corruption.
Personality-wise, Éclair exhibits a playful, energetic, and impulsive demeanor, charging recklessly into danger with a strong sense of justice. This often leads to defiant actions against authority, like protecting civilians from military oppression contrary to orders. Her central partnership with Lumière features mutual loyalty and shared missions, though Lumière frequently admonishes Éclair for her lack of elegance.
In the sequel *Kiddy Girl-and*, set 25–50 years later, Éclair appears briefly in a diminished capacity. The prologue depicts her alongside Lumière using time-manipulation abilities to freeze a planet threatened by destruction, placing them both in temporal stasis. Her legacy continues through clones created by Eclipse, the former GOTT director, who utilized quantum abilities to replicate Éclair and Lumière. This spawned three generations of Éclair clones: Uniear, Duerry, and Trixie, with Trixie inheriting space-bending powers akin to Éclair's abilities. Éclair physically reappears in episode 22 following the destabilization of the frozen space-time, rejoining the Galactic Trade Organization (GTO) with Lumière as receptionists in the series finale.
