Description
Houshou Takigawa, known as Bou-san, is a 25-year-old bass guitarist for a popular rock band and former monk of Mount Koya’s Koyasan Shingon sect, having abandoned monastic life due to restrictions on owning music CDs. His casual, approachable demeanor contrasts his spiritual expertise, which he applies part-time to curse-related music industry cases and full-time as a consultant for Shibuya Psychic Research (SPR). Standing at 185 centimeters with brown hair and eyes, he employs Buddhist rituals, protective mantras, and spiritual tools during investigations, often stepping into leadership when Kazuya Shibuya is absent. Despite strategic acumen in high-pressure scenarios, he obscures the full extent of his abilities, deflecting curiosity about his monastic past.

Takigawa adopts a teasing, brotherly rapport with Mai Taniyama, lightening tense moments with playful date invitations, while his witty exchanges with Ayako Matsuzaki foster camaraderie amid the team’s rigorous work. Practical skills like driving SPR’s transport highlight his adaptability, complementing his role as a stabilizing force bridging rock musician spontaneity and disciplined spiritual insight. Though openly labeled a *hakkaisou* (apostate monk), subtle narrative cues imply undisclosed depths to his training and motives, as allies occasionally question his true prowess. Born January 22, 1964 (Year of the Rabbit), his loyalty and pragmatic methods consistently harmonize tradition with modern problem-solving to neutralize supernatural threats.
