Kirikaze belongs to the Fuma Clan, a ninja group historically aligned with Japan's Hojo Clan during the Sengoku period and operating covertly in the modern era. Within the Fuma Clan, Kirikaze participates in the conflict triggered by Hakuo Academy against rival Seishikan, which has secured the services of the opposing Yasha Clan.

After the Sacred Sword War, Kirikaze remains an active Fuma member. Three months post-war, Kirikaze joins Shoryu and Ryuho to suppress a rebellion within the clan led by the faction known as the New Fuma Clan or Shinsei Fuma Clan. During this internal strife, Kirikaze pursues the rebel Raien into the Fuma temple, where they potentially uncover the rebellion leader's identity. This discovery leads to Kirikaze's capture by New Fuma Clan forces.

Kirikaze survives this ordeal following the return of Kojirou and Ryoma, who rejoin the fight against the rebels. The conflict culminates in decisive battles against key New Fuma Clan figures, including Muma, Raizou, and Shimon—the latter wielding potent mind control abilities. The rebellion inflicts significant casualties on the Fuma Clan, yet Kirikaze emerges alive from the conflict.
