Description
Thirteen-year-old Miyako Gotokuji lives and studies in Tokyo City, residing in an ancestral Japanese house with her grandmother, Kiyoko Gotokuji, while her parents live in Milano. Miyako possesses fair skin, baby blue eyes, and blonde hair styled in neat bangs and curly ringlet pigtails. She typically wears a school uniform: a white long-sleeved shirt with a blue necktie, a light blue and black pleated skirt, white knee-high socks, and black Mary Jane shoes. In colder weather, she switches to a pink denim blazer over a blue sleeveless dress and yellow-green cowboy boots.

Miyako exhibits a polite, kind, optimistic, and graceful personality, though she often reacts spontaneously with a slight delay and appears clueless about her surroundings and powers. Despite this ditziness, she demonstrates maturity within her team, attempting to calm tense situations while still capable of anger when provoked. She excels at domestic chores like cooking and cleaning, learned from her grandmother, though she tends to spend excessive time perfecting tasks. Her interests center heavily on fashion, with countless favorite brands and regular shopping excursions. This passion leads to popularity among male classmates, evidenced by daily love letters in her locker, though she remains oblivious to these admirers. Her devotion stems from a longstanding crush on Takaaki "Taka-chan" Ayagai, a boy she met at age six when he protected her from bullies at a playground. During this childhood encounter, Takaaki used his "shabon freedom" bubbles to comfort her after the bullies injured her knee. They made a promise to meet again before separating.

Miyako transforms into the superhero Rolling Bubbles after encountering a white light while protecting a child blowing bubbles, which reminded her of her childhood. Her transformation occurs through a white belt-compact around her waist, resulting in a costume change to a light blue jersey vest with a "P" insignia, sky blue one-piece suit, matching short skirt, and fingerless gloves. Her signature weapon is a bubble wand staff approximately 130cm long. Initially, she misunderstands its function, attempting to use it as a throwing implement until corrected. Properly wielded, the staff generates huge turquoise-blue gem-shaped bubbles either by waving or blowing into it. These bubbles serve offensive and defensive purposes, with named attacks including "Catcher," "Poyon," "Shabon Freedom," "Bubble Popper," and "Bubbles Finish." Her abilities include creating bouncy barriers, sticky traps, energy balls, and healing manifestations. The full extent of her powers emerges later when she demonstrates the capacity to produce multiple electrical white lights and heal victims affected by Black Z rays or Him's black powder, notably showcased in episode 46.

As Rolling Bubbles, Miyako retains her civilian personality, including ending sentences with "desu wa." She maintains her love for animals, communicating with them to gather information, and cherishes her stuffed octopus toy, Octi. She protects Tokyo City alongside teammates Hyper Blossom and Powered Buttercup, with whom she shares friendships but no familial relations.

Across the series, Miyako develops from initially struggling to comprehend her powers to mastering their defensive and healing applications. Her childhood affection for Takaaki remains a consistent motivation. In the final episodes, she reveals her long-term aspiration to become a fashion designer.
