Description
Captain Garis, former Director of Science for the Darius Empire, defected after being falsely accused of murdering Lulu's mother – an act orchestrated by Proist. He co-developed the Daiku-Maryu and its sister vessels, the Three Dragon Ships, alongside Daiya Tsuwabuki's father and Professor Sakon. His scientific expertise proved vital to technologies like the Dimensional Jump capability, enabling travel between Earth and the Darius world.

Assuming command of the Daiku-Maryu as its masked captain, he led the crew against the Darius Empire's invasion. The mask rendered him faceless, concealing his identity while fostering a paternal bond with the crew, who came to see him as a father figure. During a critical battle against General Noza, illness forced him to temporarily transfer command to Lulu. Revealing himself as her biological father during his recovery clarified that, despite sharing mannerisms with Daiya's missing father, he held no familial relation.

Proist's fatal assault on Garis marked the conflict's escalation. Before dying, he secured the transfer of the Daiku-Maryu's captaincy to Lulu. His legacy endured as the crew continued their mission. Garis's arc centered on seeking redemption for his past within Darius, protecting his daughter, and leading the rebellion he helped initiate. The unmasking of his paternal tie to Lulu and his ultimate sacrifice underscored his evolution from a shrouded authority into a devoted parent and revolutionary leader.
