OVA
Description
Naoki Shinjyo is a Japanese racing driver competing in the Cyber Formula World Championship. Prior to Cyber Formula, he secured two European Formula 3 championships. Kyoko Aoi, owner of Aoi Formula, recruited him for the 2015 season after observing his performance in Japanese qualifying rounds.

His debut season started strong with early podium finishes and a victory in the fourth race. However, Sugo's introduction of the Super Asurada 01 marked a decline. Engine failures and defeats by rivals Hayato Kazami and Karl Richter von Randoll led to a slump, worsened by Aoi Formula's mid-season restructuring into Aoi ZIP Formula. A turning point occurred when mechanic Miki Jounouchi confronted his disrespectful attitude towards the team. This prompted a recovery, yielding fifth, third, and first-place finishes in subsequent races. He ultimately placed second overall in the 2015 championship after narrowly losing to Kazami in the final race.

In 2016, he performed well with an upgraded machine until Knight Schumacher joined Aoi. Despite challenges, he finished second overall again. He claimed the 2017 championship title after accidents sidelined key rivals Kazami and Randoll. The 2018 season began poorly, nearly causing his dismissal from Aoi. He retained his seat by winning the Asian Grand Prix, aided by Bleed Kaga and an accidental discovery of the "Zero-Realm" ability. Jounouchi later transferred to Aoi as his chief mechanic, strengthening their professional and personal relationship.

Before the 2020 season, he was dismissed from Aoi following a decisive loss to the Al-Zard NP-1 during testing. He relocated to the United States with Jounouchi for IndyCar training. Later that year, under Randoll's direction, he disguised himself using Knight Schumacher's identity and joined Union Savior as a "special driver" for the 11th race. After his identity was publicly revealed, he raced under his real name. He finished strongly, securing a 1-2 finish with Randoll and avenging a prior defeat. He remained with Union Savior for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

In 2023, following Bleed Kaga's retirement from Aoi ZIP Formula, he and Jounouchi returned to Aoi. There, he drove the Ex-Zard Z/A-11 and partnered with Seiichirou Shiba, Sugo Winners' former test driver. His personality is marked by pride and an elite-driver mentality, often leading to self-destructive behavior during setbacks. His struggles earned him nicknames like "fleeing soldier" and established a recurring theme of hardship. His relationship with Jounouchi evolved into a romantic partnership, becoming a stabilizing influence. He possesses skills in tea ceremony, reflecting his family's heritage as tea ceremony school heads.
