Description
Madoka Mido, one of four main characters transported from 1999 AD, is forcibly drafted as a starship pilot for the 30th-century faction TERRA after investigating Yohko Yamamoto’s activities and uncovering TERRA’s secrets, thus completing their four-pilot squadron. She positions herself as Yohko’s rival in academics, athletics, gaming, and piloting, relentlessly striving to surpass her yet consistently placing second. This rivalry fuels intense frustration, often erupting in visible cockpit outbursts. Piloting the Super Sprint TA-25, she crafts her own battlesuit to sharpen her combat focus and overcomes vertigo to earn her position.

Her notably large forehead invites frequent mockery from Yohko, prompting Madoka’s retaliatory nickname "Nekomusume" (Kitten Girl). Their clashes intensify due to Madoka’s protocol-bound approach conflicting with Yohko’s independence.

A pivotal duel sees Madoka ambushed and defeated by the Ghost Captain, who replaces her on the Zenga tournament team. Later, the Ghost Captain abducts her during the tournament to manipulate Yohko.

In her 1999 AD timeline, Yamamoto Yohsuke—resembling Yohko—joins Madoka’s class. Madoka develops romantic feelings for Yohsuke, leading to distress when Yohko seemingly misses a "date" without explanation. Yohsuke’s revelation as a biological female (raised male) confuses Madoka, particularly after Yohsuke physically transforms into a male later.

Madoka’s narrative role emphasizes comic relief through her short temper, easily provoked impatience, and the recurring forehead gag. She displays fierce pride and an unyielding, though perpetually thwarted, drive to defeat her self-declared rival.
