Description
Teruko Takemura, affectionately called Teko, is the granddaughter of Sakuzo and Ume Tachibana in Sakuhana Town. Initially raised by them while her parents worked overseas, her sheltered upbringing fostered sensitivity, insecurity, and a strong romantic streak, leaving her naive about the wider world. This often leads to romantic idealism and vulnerability.

Visually distinct with girlish pigtails and glasses, Teko presents a traditionally feminine appearance compared to her friends—the magical Lalabel and the tomboyish, athletic Toko. Within their trio, Teko embodies the "Girly Girl" archetype, frequently wearing skirts and exhibiting a gentle demeanor, contrasting Toko's tomboy role. Her sheltered life positions her as the "Naïve Everygirl" of the group.

Her life transforms when she meets Lalabel, a magical girl from another world arriving at her grandparents' home. Teko quickly discovers Lalabel's secret origins and abilities, becoming a dedicated "Secret-Keeper" who shields Lalabel from human suspicion. She encourages Lalabel to enroll in her school, serving as her primary guide to human customs and social norms. Teko's unwavering loyalty and protectiveness cement her role as Lalabel's "Muggle Best Friend," aiding her integration despite lacking magical powers herself.

Teko develops romantic feelings for classmate Morio Tsubaki, forming a subtle love triangle involving Lalabel and Tsubomi Yuri. Morio shows no reciprocal interest in any of them. Teko's sensitivity occasionally surfaces in this dynamic, though her focus remains steadfastly on supporting Lalabel.

When her parents return from overseas, Teko moves from her grandparents' home to live with them. Despite this change, her bond with Lalabel and Toko endures. In the summer OVA, *The Sea Calls for a Summer Vacation*, Teko travels with Lalabel and Toko to a coastal hostel run by her uncle. She helps manage the hostel when her uncle and aunt depart unexpectedly, demonstrating responsibility and teamwork alongside her friends.

Throughout her experiences, Teko retains her core kindness and loyalty. Her interactions with Lalabel and the community gradually temper her initial naivety. Her relationship with her grandparents remains foundational, and she continues bridging Lalabel's magical background with human society through steadfast friendship.
