Description
Yū Morisawa, a spirited ten-year-old, stumbles upon a Feather Star spaceship and is granted a transformative destiny by the alien Pino Pino. Armed with the magical compact Kanon, she morphs into sixteen-year-old idol Creamy Mami, her appearance marked by cascading light-purple waves and a vibrant yellow tutu. Guided by feline guardians Posi and Nega, she wields powers to manipulate time, animate objects, and summon forces—abilities she first employs whimsically until a televised stunt catapults her into pop stardom. Forced to juggle school, her family’s crepe shop, and a secret idol career under Parthenon Productions, Yū adopts her alias to shield her identity.

Her childhood friend Toshio Ōtomo unwittingly complicates her double life, developing feelings for Creamy Mami while remaining oblivious to Yū’s true self. Tensions escalate when Toshio uncovers her secret, triggering a loss of her magic until a quest to Feather Star restores it. Balancing fiery tomboyishness with poised idol grace, Yū navigates vulnerability and curiosity, delving into realms of space circuses, ESPers, and time-traveling unicorns. Yet her magic falters against slipping grades and the strain of secrecy.

Her mother Natsume, an ex-biker leader, and father Tetsuo, a mild-mannered crepe shop owner, anchor her world—a setting where Yū discreetly aids their business with spells. Professional rivalries with Parthenon’s star Megumi Ayase and LP Productions’ scheming Snake Joe test her resolve, though her empathy often converts foes to friends.

Through OVAs like *Long Goodbye* and crossovers with icons like Minky Momo, Yū’s journey interrogates identity and duty. As her powers near expiration, she confronts growth beyond magic, culminating in Toshio’s recognition of her true self—a resolution weaving personal reconciliation with the bittersweet close of her enchanted year.
