Donatella Fanfani is an accomplished Italian voice actress, best known for her extensive work in dubbing anime and animated series for the Italian audience. Born in Milan on October 4, 1962, she is the daughter of actors Ottavio Fanfani and Nicoletta Ramorino, placing her in a family with deep roots in the performing arts.

Fanfani's career is marked by a prolific number of voice roles, particularly during the height of anime's popularity in Italy. She became a defining voice for many iconic heroines. One of her most notable and long-running roles was as the voice of Yu Morisawa, the titular character in the magical girl series Creamy Mami, a role she reprised across multiple productions including Magical Angel Creamy Mami, Creamy Mami: Long Good-Bye, and Mahō no Tenshi Creamy Mami: Eien no Once More. She also voiced Licia in the beloved series Kiss Me Licia, further cementing her status as a leading voice for young protagonists of the era.

Another landmark role in her career was as Makoto Kino, also known as Sailor Jupiter, in the first three seasons of the globally popular series Sailor Moon. Her voice work spanned a wide variety of genres and characters. She voiced Becky in Lovely Sara, Gigi in the various Minky Momo series, and Marina and Kasumi in Hiatari Ryoko. In more action-oriented anime, she lent her voice to Izumi Curtis in Fullmetal Alchemist and Domino in One Piece. Her film work included roles like Vexille in the sci-fi film Vexille and Mametchi in Tamagotchi the Movie.

Beyond anime, Fanfani's career extended to voicing characters in western animation and video games. She was the first Italian voice of Elmyra Duff in I favolosi Tiny (Tiny Toon Adventures) and voiced Pinkie Pie in the long-running series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for its first seven seasons. In the video game world, she is well-known as the voice of the AI character Cortana in the Italian versions of the Halo video game series.

In addition to voice acting, Fanfani also worked as a dubbing director, overseeing the Italian adaptations for series such as Emma: A Victorian Romance and Let's & Go - Sulle ali di un turbo. Her daughter, Cecilia Fanfani, born in 1996, followed in her footsteps and also became a voice actress.
