Description
Daigunder is a Metamorphic Fusion robot forged by Professor Hajime Akebono, uniting the knight robot Ryugu and the dragon robot Daigu, known as the "White Unsinkable Ship." Their combination relies on the Cluster System. Originally developed with DragoBurst under Professor Maelstrom, Daigunder and units like DragonFlame and DragonFreezer later severed ties upon uncovering concerning motives associated with their partners. They operated independently in space before joining Team Akira.
In his fused state, Daigunder assumes a humanoid mecha form blending Ryugu's knight design with Daigu's draconic elements. He requires this fusion to function; Daigu avoids independent combat, primarily vocalizing "Daigu!" rather than full sentences. Ryugu possesses an initially stubborn personality, developing loyalty after witnessing protective actions from his commander.
Daigunder employs signature attacks: the Dragon Cannon finisher fired from his shoulder and the Dragon Sword for close combat. His capabilities expand synergistically: equipping Despector on his left arm enables the Echo Blast. Simultaneously integrating DragonFlame as a sword ("Saber Change") and DragonFreezer as a shield ("Shield Change") unlocks his ultimate Dragon Buster attack. He can also ride a two-headed dragon formation created by DragonFlame and DragonFreezer for aerial mobility.
His fusion compatibility extends further:
* Combining with DragoBurst forms Legendary Battle Warrior Dragon Daigunder, amplifying destructive power.
* Metamorphic Fusion with Bulion (Animal Unit leader) creates Grappling King Daigulion, specializing in thunder-based attacks like Thunder Fang Battle Claw.
* Metamorphic Fusion with Bonerex (Dino Unit leader) results in Swordplay King Daigarex, utilizing techniques such as Air-Slicing Beast Sword.
Daigunder's operational history includes confrontations with the rogue Battle Robot Ginzan, who targeted him under Professor Maelstrom's orders, testing his resilience against attacks like Power Blast and Dragon Revolver. He also participated in sanctioned Battle Robot tournaments commanded by Team Akira, adhering to structured rules involving team hit points (HP) and penalties like yellow cards.
Within Team Akira, Daigunder operates under Akira Akebono's command, receiving maintenance from manager Haruka Hoshi and the small robot Beebot. His interactions with other battle robots are primarily tactical, such as forming the quadruple fusion Megarex with Eaglearrow, Drimorg, Despector, and Trihorn – a form rarely used due to high energy consumption.
