Description
Seiji Amasawa, a reserved 14-year-old Mukaihara Junior High student in Shizuku Tsukishima’s class, harbors a quiet intensity for crafting violins in his grandfather’s antique shop workshop. Though initially distant from Shizuku, he covertly borrows books she previously checked out to spark her curiosity. His dry humor surfaces in teasing remarks about her lyrics—a guise masking genuine admiration. When he unveils his workshop to her, the aspiring luthier shares his dream of apprenticing in Cremona, Italy, defying his parents’ skepticism through his grandfather’s steadfast support.

Their bond deepens as he plays a violin accompaniment to her reinvented “Country Roads,” intertwining their artistic worlds. His two-month departure for Italy ignites Shizuku’s resolve to pursue writing, mirroring his dedication. Before leaving, he confesses his deliberate book borrowings as a bid to connect, unraveling their subtle dance of mutual interest.

Returning with renewed purpose, Seiji bridges vulnerability with resolve, proposing marriage at dawn as they vow to reunite after honing their crafts. His arc traces a shift from guarded sarcasm to open-hearted sincerity, seen in flushed cheeks and earnest discussions of futures. While spurring Shizuku’s self-discovery, his journey reflects the tension between tradition and ambition, his gestures—a shared song, a sunrise promise—marking growth from detachment to partnership. His story remains anchored to their intertwined paths, unresolved threads lingering in the quiet certainty of their pact.
