Shockwave Alberto, also known as Lord Alberto the Impact or Shocking Alberto, stands among the Magnificent Ten, the ruling cadre of the terrorist organization Big Fire. An aristocrat possessing superhuman psychic abilities, his signature power involves drawing power from his surroundings and unleashing it as devastating shockwaves capable of annihilating anything in their path. A cybernetic eyepatch masks his missing right eye, lost in a prior battle against Taisou of the Experts of Justice—a conflict that also claimed his closest friend and colleague, Cervantes the Dazzling, forging Alberto's enduring thirst for vengeance against Taisou.

Alberto shares significant familial bonds within the Magnificent Ten. He is the biological brother of Hanzui, the group's leader, and father to Sanny the Magician. A persistent telepathic link connects Alberto and Sanny, instantly alerting each if the other suffers harm. This connection later confirms his survival after a critical injury.

Commanded by Genya during Operation: Earth Standstill, Alberto oversees the project to activate the Eye of Volger. Tasked with securing the third Shizuma Drive sample from Interpol, he directs his subordinate, Ivan the Terrible, to attack the Peking base. While Ivan kills Dr. Shizuma, Giant Robo's intervention prevents sample recovery. Alberto's subsequent efforts to capture the sample in Shanghai, including taking Daisaku Kusama hostage, also fail. He witnesses Ginrei's teleportation ability firsthand during this clash, narrowly escaping severe injury.

Alberto harbors deep suspicions about Genya's loyalty to Big Fire. After the Shanghai battle, he confronts his arch-enemy Taisou, who sacrifices himself to enable his comrades' escape moments before the Eye of Volger annihilates the city, leaving Alberto cheated of meaningful revenge. His distrust escalates upon eavesdropping on Genya in the Himalayas, uncovering Genya's true identity as Emmanuel, son of Franken Von Volger, and his manipulation of Big Fire for personal vengeance. Alberto confronts Genya, threatening to bring him before the Magnificent Ten for judgment, but is immobilized by Koenshaku. Genya then shoots Alberto in his cybernetic eyepatch.

Alberto survives this betrayal by feigning death. He falls into a snowy chasm where Giant Robo lies disabled and clings to the robot's right shoulder, entering suspended animation concealed within a strange, indestructible white formation. Though the Magnificent Ten initially doubts his survival, Hanzui receives telepathic confirmation via Sanny communicating with her father's voice.

In the final confrontation, Alberto emerges from suspension as Giant Robo attacks the Eye of Volger. He begins absorbing the energy field surrounding the orb, draining its power and rendering it defenseless. He explicitly states to Daisaku that his actions are not motivated by saving the world; instead, he intends for humanity's fate to be decided in a final battle between the Experts of Justice and Big Fire, denying Genya his personal victory. After absorbing massive amounts of energy, Alberto's body surpasses its capacity and disintegrates into dust.

Alberto demonstrates a complex morality. While a ruthless terrorist operative, he exhibits loyalty, compassion, and a sense of honor, particularly toward his family within the Magnificent Ten. His eyepatch functions as a communications and tracking device. His cigar-smoking demeanor and aristocratic bearing contribute to his distinct presence.
