Description
Mitsuru Ikeda serves as the Residence Hall President of Greenwood, the remote dormitory at Ryokuto Academy. He is the adopted son of the caretaker of the Ikeda temple in Tokyo, and since childhood he has been aware of his adoption, leading him to feel that he does not truly belong within his adopted family. This sense of detachment motivates him to keep his distance from them. Mitsuru is a cheerful and energetic upperclassman who frequently uses his official authority to tease and prank the new resident Kazuya Hasekawa, often making life difficult for him with elaborate jokes and mischievous schemes. He takes pleasure in having fun at others’ expense and lives in such an exaggerated manner that his traits and turns of fortune often strain credibility. Despite this playful exterior, his rough treatment of Kazuya is not simply cruelty; it is a deliberate method of toughening the younger boy up so that Kazuya can eventually take over Mitsuru’s role as Residence Hall President. Mitsuru is also the best friend and roommate of Shinobu Tezuka, and together with Kazuya and Kazuya’s roommate Shun Kisaragi, they form a close foursome. He possesses an unusual ability: any cut or bruise on his face heals completely in under a minute. Throughout the series, Mitsuru’s antics and underlying care for Kazuya help shape the dormitory’s chaotic yet warm atmosphere.
