Description
Kento Rei Fuan, alias Xiu Li-huang or Shu Rei Fuan, entered the world on September 1, 1973, in Yokohama’s Chinatown. His lineage traces back to Chinese immigrants of the Ching Dynasty, with his father, Chanrun, presiding over a thriving restaurant empire. Trained rigorously in Chinese kung fu by his mother—a martial arts master—Kento grew as the eldest of five siblings: Rinfi, Yun, Meiryu, and Chunfa. Compelled to prioritize his younger siblings’ needs, he secretly scavenged meals, once mistaking spoiled milk for yogurt.
Impulsive yet fiercely loyal, Kento charges headlong into battles without strategy, relying on raw strength—a trait that backfired when Dais deceived him into attacking ally Sage. His devotion shines through bonds like his camaraderie with Cye Mouri, sharing surf sessions and shared living spaces. He devours meals, dominates arm wrestling matches, scales peaks, and hones Tai Chi Gen, though rejects delicacies like Devil’s tongue and swallow’s nest.
Clad in the Earth-aligned Hardrock Armor embodying Justice (Gi), Kento wields a hybrid three-section staff-naginata that splits into nunchaku-like segments. His Iron Rock Crusher attack unleashes ground-shattering force. During Talpa’s initial onslaught, he nearly froze to death on the Throne of the Gods’ snowy peak before Sage rescued him. Blinded by vengeance against Dais, he wounded Sage but later redeemed himself by toppling the warlord.
Talpa later preyed on Kento’s doubts about the armors’ origins, trapping him in a power-draining curse that petrified him until Rowen intervened. In the Dynasty’s final siege, Kento lured Dais away to aid Rowen’s escape, only to be absorbed by Talpa and later freed by Ryo’s Inferno Armor.
The Gaiden OVA saw Kento win a lottery, funding Ryo’s birthday celebration before journeying to the U.S. to probe Sage’s disappearance, battling possessed armor and military foes. The Legend of the Inferno Armor OVA featured him surfing and clad in safari gear in Africa, while the Message OVA showcased a sports jacket and jeans ensemble, though his upgraded armor’s abilities stayed undefined.
Over time, Kento tempered his impulsiveness—evident after the Sage incident—yet remained prone to rash acts. His raw strength allowed feats like halting speeding trucks unarmored. Balancing future clan leadership duties with protecting Yuli, he embodies resilience and evolving responsibility.
