Description
Owaru Ryudo stands as the third of four brothers, each a reincarnation of an ancient Chinese Dragon King. At fifteen, he embodies the White Dragon King of the Western Isles, wielding dominion over air, wind, and sound. This dragon lineage bestows supernatural abilities, including the power to assume his true dragon form.

In his human life, Owaru projects a confident, brash, and highly energetic personality. He exhibits disdain for academic work yet remains a gifted student at Kyowa College. His frequent carelessness often draws admonishment from his eldest brother. Possessing a substantial appetite, he eagerly charges into physical confrontations, a stark contrast to his more pacifistic siblings. Athletic prowess and formidable hand-to-hand combat skills make him the brother most likely to initiate fights when threatened.

Distinct dynamics define his family relationships. He regards eldest brother Hajime as a paternal figure, routinely calling for his aid in perilous situations. With second brother Tsuzuku, he engages in constant banter and verbal sparring. Toward youngest brother Amaru, he assumes a protective guardian role, involving him in activities while shielding him from danger. This protective instinct extends deeply to their cousin, Matsuri Toba.

His dragon powers manifest as control over atmospheric elements—wind and sound vibrations—when transformed. These abilities complement his brothers' respective control over gravity, fire/electromagnetic energy, and water/lightning. Despite proficiency, his youth correlates with occasional lapses in fully controlling these supernatural powers.

Across media adaptations, his core traits remain consistent. Original novels and the subsequent OVA depict his involvement in the brothers' conflicts against organizations like the Four Sisters and the Bulls, who seek to exploit their dragon heritage. A Clamp spin-off manga places him in a comedic storyline journeying to Osaka to "wake snakes," highlighting his adventurous and impulsive nature. Another manga adaptation by Kōji Megumi similarly centers on him for comedic effect, reinforcing his role as an energetic catalyst for action.

Narratives consistently chart his development from a brash teenager into a responsible protector, balancing combat instincts with a deepening commitment to his family's safety. Official sequels, prequels, or spin-offs beyond these maintain his core character and backstory, though manga adaptations shift tone toward comedy.
