Description
Anna Nagumo is a main character, a highly accomplished kendo practitioner at Aoba West High School who racked up numerous regional tournament victories. She earned a fierce reputation for her aggressive, direct fighting style, favoring strikes over defense. Her naturally chestnut brown hair became a source of distress when a gym teacher falsely accused her of violating dress codes by dyeing it, requiring intervention from her friend Michi Sonoda and revealing sensitivity beneath her typically confident exterior.

Academically gifted and ranking among the top students, Anna exhibits a competitive drive across all activities, often striving to excel and labeling herself a "prodigy." Despite her kendo success, a long-standing desire to join club activities with her childhood best friend Michi Sonoda, with whom she shares a bond dating back to elementary school, leads her to abandon kendo mid-high school. Driven by envy of Michi's enjoyment and a wish to share that experience, she joins the school's judo club where Michi is a member.

Her transition to judo showcases rapid skill acquisition, attributed to her prior martial arts discipline, though club advisors restrict her from immediate competition due to safety concerns. Instead, she contributes by analyzing opponents' techniques and strategies during tournaments, demonstrating her tactical mindset. She openly declares ambitious goals, vowing to defeat 100 opponents as the team's vanguard in a future competition, highlighting her boldness and commitment. Her personality blends assertiveness and haughtiness with genuine kindness, compassion, and leadership; she supports teammates in improving their skills and values teamwork.

Over time, her dedication to judo deepens, and she trains rigorously with the team, aiming for tournament success. Her involvement in judo concludes after high school, as she does not pursue it further into adulthood. Her character development emphasizes perseverance, adaptability in new pursuits, and the prioritization of camaraderie alongside personal achievement.
