Description
Akane Kashiwazaki, nicknamed Prince, studies literature as a second-year at Kansei University and lives in Chikuseisou dormitory. His prince-like moniker stems from shoulder-length peach or brown hair, freckles, and brown eyes, paired with an average height and slim build. He favors casual layers—white shirts under flannel and denim, sometimes accented with statement pieces.
Prince endured a challenging childhood that led to hikikomori withdrawal, overcome through his grandfather’s support. This forged his resilience and dedication to uplifting others, fueling his distinct aversion to criticism: "I really hate running, but more than that, I hate people who criticize others for what they do."
Initially passive and indoors-oriented, Prince speaks in dramatized, proper Japanese and tires swiftly during runs, avoiding athletics. His room overflows with manga volumes, reflecting his central passion, and he joins the university’s manga club.
His evolution transforms him from the team’s least athletic member to a devoted runner. Early training adapts his interests: he reads manga on a treadmill provided by teammate Takashi Sugiyama’s family, building endurance incrementally. Camaraderie deepens his resolve, particularly through manga-reading sessions during runs with Kakeru Kurahara. His perseverance peaks when he completes his leg of the Hakone Ekiden relay.
Within the team, Prince values collective effort and offers encouragement despite initial hesitance. His bond with Kakeru stands out, defined by collaborative training and mutual respect.
