He is of Irish and Japanese descent. Haimoto developed an interest in production and performance early on, earning a Bachelor's degree in Film and Media Production with an emphasis on Interdisciplinary Art from the University of Houston between 2008 and 2012. His professional background includes various roles in production and post-production, which provided a foundation for his later work in voice acting and direction.

Haimoto began his voice acting career in the mid-2010s, quickly becoming a prominent figure in the industry, frequently cast in leading and supporting roles for major dubbing studios such as Sentai Filmworks, Funimation (now Crunchyroll), and Sound Cadence Studios. He was often typecast in roles requiring youthful or pretty-boy voices for young adult and teenage characters. His extensive filmography includes a wide array of characters across numerous popular anime series. Some of his most recognized roles include the lead role of Thorfinn in the English dub of Vinland Saga, Akane Kashiwazaki in Run with the Wind, Demon Cleric Leonard in Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, and Takanobu Aone in Haikyu!!. Goal to the Future, Ushio Azabu in ACTORS: Songs Connection, Haru Yukima in 7SEEDS, and a role in the film My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes' Mission.

In addition to his on-screen roles, Haimoto was also active behind the microphone as an ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) scriptwriter and voice director for various productions, contributing to projects for studios like Sentai Filmworks and Sound Cadence Studios.

In February 2023, fellow voice actor Avery Smithhart publicly accused Haimoto of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and using ableist language. Following these allegations, it was reported that Haimoto was removed from his ongoing roles and recast in several productions, including Vinland Saga and Record of Ragnarok, where his role as Soji Okita was taken over by Alejandro Saab. Consequently, his casting and voice direction work with major studios like Crunchyroll, Sentai Filmworks, and Sound Cadence Studios ceased. As of 2024, Haimoto has not publicly commented on the allegations and his professional activity in the voice-over industry has largely ceased.
