Description
Yuzuki Aoba serves as the eldest daughter at Mikazuki-Dera temple, living with her younger sisters Tsukuyo and Kurage. Her estranged priest parents have left the temple's future uncertain under nun Kiki's custodianship. Facing potential closure and eviction upon her high school graduation without a head priest, Yuzuki shoulders the responsibility of securing the temple's survival. This duty drives key decisions, including her initial agreement to an arranged marriage (omiai) with a qualified priest.

Physically, Yuzuki possesses purple hair styled with two front bangs and a forehead fringe, red eyes, and a slender figure. She typically wears traditional attire like a peach kimono or her school uniform. Despite this delicate appearance, she wields exceptional physical strength, acknowledged by all at the temple. She routinely performs demanding tasks such as moving heavy objects, yet remains surprisingly clumsy in daily life, often resulting in accidental mishaps or wardrobe malfunctions.

Her personality blends kindness, responsibility, and hidden complexity. She acts as caretaker for her sisters and the temple, showing consistent forgiveness and consideration. However, she can become intimidating when necessary, using her strength to enforce discipline. Beneath her composed exterior lies a less visible, impulsive side; her sister Kurage notes she was once more playful and teasing before maturing quickly due to family circumstances. She also harbors a private, perverted curiosity about romantic and sexual matters, occasionally leading to awkward situations like suggesting a stay at a love hotel.

Her development centers on her relationship with Akemitsu Akagami. They first meet when a rice bale she carries accidentally strikes him, causing Akemitsu to fall instantly in love. Later, when he arrives to train as a monk, Yuzuki mistakes him for her arranged marriage candidate. She soon learns his father embezzled 20 million yen from the temple and demands repayment. Initially viewing Akemitsu as a solution to the debt, she gradually develops genuine feelings. Her emotional awareness evolves slowly; she remains oblivious to her jealousy and affection until pivotal moments, like witnessing his interactions with others or during Valentine's Day, when she acknowledges her love and resolves not to lose him.

During their cohabitation, Yuzuki's conservative nature clashes with her growing attraction. She becomes flustered by romantic scenarios involving Akemitsu yet actively seeks closeness, proposing they bathe together or share a bed. Her internal conflict peaks during a missed train incident where she suggests a love hotel, revealing anxiety about the temple's future and her deepening attachment. Despite setbacks, including an engagement ultimatum from another priest, she consistently prioritizes the temple's survival and family stability even as her bond with Akemitsu fuels her personal growth.

Additional details include her participation in her high school's Kyudo club, her former enrollment in Class 1-B, interactions with characters like Mari Tsukishita (who runs a Buddhist specialty shop), and appearances in crossover content. Her name, meaning "tie/bind" and "moon," reflects her role as a unifying force within her family and temple community.
