Michiko Tsurugi features in "Play It Again." She is the granddaughter of elderly swordsman Sanjuurou Tsurugi. Actively preventing her grandfather from attending her high school's parent's day, Michiko sparks a bet settled by a sword fight. During their duel, she cleverly tires Sanjuurou by repeatedly circling a large cherry blossom tree until he exhausts himself, securing her victory and his promise to stay away from school. When Sanjuurou magically regresses to a teenage state due to the cherry blossom tree's mystical properties and enrolls in her school as "Sanjuurou Sakura," Michiko interacts with him as a peer without recognizing her grandfather. During a confrontation between the rejuvenated Sanjuurou and kendo club member Tatsuya Nakadai, who intends to exploit Michiko, she cheers for Nakadai, revealing an unexpected romantic interest that surprises Sanjuurou. After Sanjuurou defeats Nakadai in a subsequent duel with real swords – where Michiko provides her grandfather with his metal sword at a crucial moment – she tends to Sanjuurou's injuries, bandaging his wounds and asking his identity; he gives the alias "Sanjuurou Sakura." Following Sanjuurou's return to his original age and disappearance from school, Michiko reunites with her elderly grandfather at the cherry blossom tree. When he teasingly asks if she has fallen for someone recently, she sticks out her tongue and dismisses the question as none of his business.
