Alice Bauer

Description
Alice Bauer is a German actress and voice actor known for her extensive work in dubbing, particularly providing the German voices for numerous characters in anime series and live-action films. Born on March 30, 1993, in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland, to a Swiss father and a Turkish mother, she developed a passion for performance from a young age, spending fourteen years training in various dance styles including hip-hop, belly dance, salsa, and jazz. She pursued formal acting training at the European Film Actor School (EFAS) in Zurich, successfully completing her three-year studies in 2016.

Before and during her acting education, Bauer gained valuable on-camera experience. She worked as a television moderator for the lifestyle and nightlife broadcast Freakish on MTV in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, which included hosting events and movie premieres such as a James Bond premiere in Las Vegas. Her on-screen acting credits include roles in Swiss and international film productions. She appeared in the 2014 cinema film The Youth, directed by Paolo Sorrentino, working alongside actors like Jane Fonda and Michael Caine. The same year, she played a main role, Sonja, in the Swiss movie Rewind. She also starred as the main character, Mia, in the 2015 short film Red Snow and played the lead role of Svetlana in the television sitcom XGENCY from 2017 to 2018.

Bauer's career is, however, most prolifically defined by her work as a dialogue replacement voice actor, or dubbing artist. In Germany, it is standard practice to create localized voice tracks for foreign films and television series, and Bauer has become a prominent voice in this field. Her voice is featured in a wide array of major Hollywood films, where she regularly dubs actresses such as Joey King (in The Kissing Booth film series), Lupita Nyong'o (as Nakia in the Black Panther films), and Ella Balinska (as Jane Kano in Charlie's Angels). She has also lent her voice to characters in blockbuster franchises, including Agent Paloma in No Time to Die, Dani Miranda in The Gray Man, and a role in Oppenheimer. Her video game work includes providing the voice for the female protagonist Fenyx in Immortals Fenyx Rising.

Within the anime and animation sphere, Alice Bauer has established herself as a sought-after talent, voicing a diverse range of prominent characters. She is the German voice of Shuna, the skilled artist and painter of the Ogre tribe, in the series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and its spin-off, The Slime Diaries. She voices the strong-willed and skilled jujutsu sorcerer Maki Zenin in the hit series Jujutsu Kaisen and the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Her other notable anime roles include the small but determined dwarf rabbit Haru in BEASTARS, the aloof and intelligent Yukino Yukinoshita in My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, and the anarchic Ayame Kajō in Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist. Her versatility extends to animation for video games and other series, such as voicing Jinx in the critically acclaimed series Arcane.

With a career spanning live-action performance, television presenting, and an extensive body of voice work, Alice Bauer is a multifaceted performer. Her consistent presence in both major Hollywood blockbusters and beloved anime series for the German market highlights her significant contribution to making international productions accessible to German-speaking audiences.
