While confined, he instinctively pilots a stolen fighter craft with uncanny skill, later learning this ability arises from unlocked DNA memory.

He allies with a doctor running a secret underground lab, opposing the regime. During a military invasion targeting him, he witnesses Rei Yuuki destroy an enemy carrier using similar unexplained powers. Both Tetsuro and Rei possess unique abilities as the only known human survivors of the meteor impact, drawing enemy attention. Their search for a third survivor leads them to a telepathic cat, completing their group.

Forcibly taken before Queen Photon, the regime's ruler, they hear her claim of protecting Earth from the meteor's senders.
