Description
Yoshiaki Iizuka, a Distonian War veteran and high-ranking Japan Ground Self-Defense Force officer, commands the Magical Girl Operations Development Unit (M-Squad), a covert anti-magic task force masquerading as a maid café to counter threats from magical girls and interdimensional entities. Having sacrificed an arm in the war’s final battle, he channels relentless focus into military strategy, prioritizing mission success over personal welfare. His leadership exudes a cold, brash pragmatism, tempered only by a detached sense of duty as legal guardian to Asuka Ootorii and Kurumi Mugen—relationships defined by formal boundaries rather than warmth.

During critical operations like the Babel Brigade and New York arcs, he maneuvers through bureaucratic and political obstacles, deploying unconventional tactics when official channels falter. This includes sanctioning off-the-books magical-girl interventions, approving enhanced interrogations, and bypassing legal protocols to neutralize adversaries. Post-war, after M-Squad dissolves following the Babel Brigade’s defeat, he pivots to constructing a new paramilitary unit mirroring its predecessor’s structure, preparing for future clashes with magical forces. His history before the Distonian War remains undisclosed, his motives obscured beneath layers of tactical necessity.
