Description
Commander Close operates within the villainous organization Dys Dark, forming the Three Musketeers with Shut and Lock. Forged from Dyspear's soul, he wields the power to seal dreams within the Gate of Despair. His incantation, "Close Your Dream!", transforms these captured dreams into monstrous Zetsuborgs.

Tall and lanky, he sports black hair and distinctive elf-like ears. Dark magenta eye makeup adorns his face, glowing when summoning Zetsuborgs. His primary attire is a purple leather jacket and pants studded with gold spikes, complemented by a lock pendant. After resurrection, his look shifts to a netted top, a long purple skirt-like garment, fingerless gloves, and high-heeled boots. He accesses powered-up states: a larger, more muscular form and a beast form resembling a giant purple crow with red eyes. Absorbing Dyspear's residual power in the final battle triggers a further transformation; his hair turns white streaked with black, and he dons a black-and-red suit featuring a magenta keyhole on the chest, along with thick feathered appendages.

Strict, short-tempered, and stubborn, Close openly scorns others' feelings. He harbors intense hatred for Cure Flora, fueled by their opposing views on dreams. Despite his ruthless exterior, he demonstrates fierce loyalty to Dyspear and genuine care for his subordinates Stop and Freeze, ensuring their retreat before purification. His relationships are manipulative, particularly his abusive dynamic with Shut, involving both emotional and physical mistreatment. He also exerts control over Lock, though their dynamic alters following Lock's brief purification.

Close's narrative begins by trapping the dreams of Haruka's roommate Yui, leading to the first clash with Cure Flora. Following initial defeats, he appears destroyed in episode 11. He resurfaces in episode 31, gathering despair energy to revive Dyspear. Later schemes include isolating Cure Flora; he disguises himself as a student named Kurosu and exploits Prince Kanata's inadvertent discouragement, plunging Haruka into despair and triggering a city-wide onslaught using vines and cages. Subsequent plans involve luring Flora into a false utopia and forcibly reviving Lock using energy siphoned from captured students. In the climax, he fuses with Dyspear. After her defeat, he taps into her remnant power to achieve his final form. During his ultimate duel with Cure Flora, her perspective on the coexistence of hope and despair persuades him; he departs peacefully, acknowledging he might return someday.

His combat abilities evolve significantly. Initially focused on summoning Zetsuborgs, he later exhibits enhanced powers like energy shields and purple lightning blasts after resurrection. His beast form grants increased physical strength, while his final form dramatically amplifies his offensive capabilities during the battle against Cure Flora's Grand Princess mode.
