Konagi Yawakaze is a student at Seikou Private School and a member of the "Popular Five," a group of the most popular students, holding the rank of the third most popular girl. She has chestnut-brown hair, often styled with a large, light green bow, and light pink eyes. Her typical attire is the standard school uniform, and outside of school she wears a red shirt with a short black skirt. She is considered highly attractive by her peers due to her physical appearance and sweet personality.

Her personality is characterized as sweet, kind, fairly shy—especially around boys—and very forgiving. She is notably clumsy, often tripping or having slips of the tongue. Her innocent and pure attitude has earned her a group of self-appointed bodyguards among her admirers who protect her reputation, often by violently confronting anyone, particularly male students, who approach her. She is apologetic when these guards cause harm to others.

She shares a significant relationship with Ouka Yuuouji, her best friend since their freshman year. Their friendship remains strong despite their differing personalities and social ranks. Another key relationship is with Kanade Amakusa, a member of the "Reject Five." Despite their different social groups, they are on friendly terms. During the outing where the mission was to be completed, she was protected by Kanade from an attacker. A sudden gust of wind later revealed her underwear to Kanade, shocking her. The etymology of her name reflects her personality; "Konagi" means "small" and "calm, lull," while "Yawakaze" means "soft/softness, tender, weakness, gentle/gentleness, flexible" and "wind, breeze, way."
