Description
Nurzak, a Gundalian elder, led the Subterra division of the elite Twelve Orders under Emperor Barodius. He commanded the Guardian Bakugan Subterra Sabator, equipped with Battle Gear Chompixx. Loyal to Gundalia since Barodius's father ruled, Nurzak respected the former emperor for fearing the Sacred Orb's power. This led him to distrust Barodius's ambition to seize the orb destructively.
His past involved a personal tragedy. Earlier, reckless frontline leadership caused the deaths of his entire unit, including his daughter Floria. This loss forged his later cautious and strategic approach.
Barodius's escalating war against Neathia disillusioned Nurzak. He criticized the emperor's tyranny and disregard for Gundalian lives, attempted peace overtures to Neathia, and confronted Barodius directly, urging him to stop the war. Facing refusal, Nurzak conspired with Kazarina to overthrow the emperor. Kazarina betrayed him, exposed as Barodius's spy. Nurzak won the first round against Barodius in battle but was defeated by Dharak and presumed dead.
Nurzak survived, transported to an interdimensional space where he met Mason Brown. They witnessed Dan Kuso's fight against Dragonoid Colossus. Returning to Neathia, Nurzak joined the Battle Brawlers, pledging loyalty to Neathia and the Sacred Orb. He aided in freeing brainwashed brawlers like Jake Vallory.
Partnering with Princess Fabia Sheen on a mission to Kazarina's lab, they were ambushed by Kazarina and Stoica. Stoica flooded the area. Nurzak saved Fabia from drowning but was swept away himself. Facing death, he confessed the earlier story of fallen soldiers was his own and envisioned his deceased daughter, who resembled Fabia. He survived, rejoined the conflict, and later dueled Kazarina directly after her Bakugan Lumagrowl rebelled. Disarming her, he found her lifeless body and carried it back to allies.
In the final battle against Barodius, Nurzak attacked the emperor but was defeated and fell into a chasm. He survived, arriving with reinforcements as Barodius tried to claim the Sacred Orb's power, warning him to stop. After Barodius's demise, Nurzak facilitated a Gundalian-Neathian alliance and returned to Gundalia to form a new government.
Later, during the chaos Bakugan invasions under Mag Mel, Nurzak served as Gundalia's first Prime Minister. He coordinated defenses with Queen Fabia Sheen and thanked the Battle Brawlers after Mag Mel's defeat, solidifying peaceful planetary relations.
Personality-wise, Nurzak embodied scholarly wisdom and strategic acumen, calmly analyzing opponents and situations. While advocating peace, he fought readily when diplomacy failed, opposing Barodius directly. He maintained respect for Neathians, especially Fabia, valued subordinates, and condemned unnecessary sacrifice. His relationship with Sabator reflected mutual trust, earning him loyalty from many Gundalian war survivors.
