TV-Series
Description
Black March is one of thirteen sentient Month Series ignition weapons forged by master craftsman Ashul Edwaru for King Zahard. Classified as a B-rank needle, its physical form is slender and jet-black, featuring a slightly thicker handle inscribed with its name in cursive script. The weapon houses a spirit that manifests as a young woman with golden hair, pointed ears, and an elaborate red gown when ignited. This spirit communicates directly with users, exhibiting a distinct personality marked by a preference for handsome male wielders. It notably refused cooperation with female users like Yuri Zahard and Anak Zahard, reportedly considering Anak "somewhat of an idiot."
Symbolically tied to Zahard's Princesses, Black March carries an alleged connection to unlocking the Tower’s 135th floor, though sources suggest this purpose may conceal deeper, undisclosed motives related to Zahard’s control.
Princess Yuri Zahard initially lent Black March to the Irregular Twenty-Fifth Bam during his test on the Tower’s first floor. Confronted by the Steel Eel and an impenetrable ball, Bam ignited the weapon after its spirit deemed him "cute" and compatible, allowing him to pierce the ball and advance. Anak Zahard claimed Black March after the Crown Game but failed to ignite it due to the spirit's refusal. Lo Po Bia Ren attempted to retrieve it and kill Anak, but Yuri intervened and reclaimed possession. Though Yuri carried the weapon afterward, the spirit's reluctance limited its combat deployment.
On the Floor of Death, Yuri wielded Black March under Hwa Ryun’s guidance against the immortal Walcott, whose condition stemmed from a floor-specific spell negated by the 13 Month Series. Initially resistant, the weapon ignited unexpectedly, potentially influenced by the proximity of Green April. Both spirits warned Yuri against simultaneous ignition, citing the risk of triggering the "Ghost of the 13 Months" curse – a possession phenomenon. Ignoring the warning, Yuri ignited both and briefly succumbed to the ghost’s control before escaping.
At the Last Station, Yuri utilized Black March and Green April in battle. Witnessing Bam endangered by Ranker Charlie’s Orange Snake Needle, she transported Black March to him via a shinsu bubble. The spirit reignited for Bam, acknowledging his growth and expressing admiration for his resolve. Empowered by the weapon, Bam destroyed the inventory Great Whaley and defended against High Ranker Ari Bright Sharon. Later, confronting the Vice Alter Director, he stabbed himself with Black March, transforming it into a black shinsu thorn fragment and subsequently a large needle.
Following this, Evankhell restricted Bam’s use of Black March to prioritize foundational training. Yuri, confirming the weapon’s safety and acknowledging its preference for Bam, allowed him to retain it. Bam later wielded it against Dumas.
Black March’s documented abilities include piercing Headon’s specialized ball, intercepting bullets mid-flight to protect its wielder, and negating immortality spells unique to the Floor of Death. Its sentience enables autonomous actions, choosing when to ignite and communicating warnings or conditions to users.
