Tobimaro Mizunokōji, heir to Japan's immense Mizunokōji fortune descended from nobility, is locked in a generations-long feud with the samurai-descended Mendō clan. This fuels his intense childhood rivalry with Shūtarō Mendō, though the two retain a familiar bond, using nicknames "Ton-chan" and "Shuu-chan."
