Description
Tobimaro Mizunokōji, heir to Japan's immense Mizunokōji fortune descended from nobility, is locked in a generations-long feud with the samurai-descended Mendō clan. This fuels his intense childhood rivalry with Shūtarō Mendō, though the two retain a familiar bond, using nicknames "Ton-chan" and "Shuu-chan." He dedicates his existence to baseball, approaching it with the solemnity of a warrior's code. To prepare for his annual duel against Shūtarō, he undertakes rigorous mountain training focused on martial arts over baseball skills. During these isolated periods, he developed the unusual habit of consuming baseballs for sustenance, leading to a recurring tendency to swallow baseballs during games. Paradoxically, his notably poor athletic abilities – characterized by slow reflexes and erratic throws – prevent Shūtarō from hitting his pitches, resulting in perpetual ties or double knockouts.

His appearance is eccentric and unkempt; he wears a torn samurai robe with shaggy hair covering one eye, concealing his family's wealth. His most distinctive feature is his star-shaped pupils, a genetic trait shared by his sister Asuka and great-grandfather, parodying the "starry-eyed" protagonists of 1970s sports manga to symbolize exaggerated passion.

Personality-wise, Tobimaro harbors deep mistrust of women stemming from childhood trauma inflicted by Shūtarō's sadistic sister, Ryōko. Despite this aversion, he employs an all-female secret police and staff. He exhibits unwavering protectiveness toward his sister Asuka, whom he met later in life, though his actions inadvertently encourage her incestuous feelings for him. Their mother blames him for this dynamic, frequently berating or physically punishing him with a mallet. He is socially awkward, prone to misunderstandings like declaring the winner of his duel must "marry the other."

His complex relationships include:
- **Shūtarō Mendō:** A rivalry blending fierce competitiveness with mutual respect, extending beyond baseball to family honor.
- **Ryōko Mendō:** Her violent childhood affection shaped his gynophobia, despite her claims to love him.
- **Asuka Mizunokōji:** He fiercely safeguards her from perceived threats like Ataru Moroboshi, despite her superhuman strength causing him frequent injuries.

Tobimaro possesses notable resilience, surviving severe physical trauma including losing two-thirds of his blood from nosebleeds and enduring bone-crushing hugs from Asuka, leaving medical professionals astonished at his endurance.
