Description
Masato Tsuge serves as a central character, first appearing as the university-era best friend of Kiyoshi Adachi. After graduation, he becomes a romance novelist specializing in love stories despite lacking personal romantic experience. Upon turning 30 while still a virgin, he gains the supernatural ability to read thoughts through touch, mirroring the power his friend Adachi developed under identical circumstances.

Tsuge exhibits a reserved and socially awkward personality, often stuttering when flustered, yet capable of unexpected straightforwardness. Physically, he stands approximately 188 centimeters tall, with short dark hair (depicted as brown in some adaptations), brown eyes, and wears glasses.

His life shifts dramatically through frequent interactions with Minato Wataya, a delivery person assigned to his neighborhood. Their initial connection stems from Tsuge's cat, Udon, whom Minato had previously encountered as a stray and desired to adopt. Observing Minato's kindness towards Udon, Tsuge gradually develops romantic feelings, experiencing confusion and a racing heartbeat during encounters. His ability to hear Minato's thoughts intensifies this emotional turmoil, making their interactions both overwhelming and compelling.

Throughout their evolving relationship, Tsuge supports Minato's ambition to become a professional dancer. Following Minato's disappointment after failing an audition, Tsuge attempts encouragement but clumsily causes a misunderstanding by suggesting he had "ulterior motives." This incident temporarily strains their bond. Unlike Adachi, who eventually confessed his abilities, Tsuge struggles profoundly with verbalizing his feelings. Failed written attempts to articulate his emotions lead him to express affection through actions, such as giving Minato a meaningful gift. This gesture facilitates their reconciliation and mutual confession of feelings.

Tsuge maintains a close, supportive friendship with Adachi. They frequently discuss their romantic challenges and the complications of their mind-reading abilities. A unique aspect involves their discovery of telepathic communication enabled by their shared magical powers.

Following the resolution of misunderstandings with Minato, their relationship solidifies. Tsuge continues his writing career while navigating his partnership with Minato, ultimately embracing a more committed romantic life, representing growth from his previously isolated existence.
