Description
Yuzuru Yamai emerged as one half of the Spirit previously called Yamai Kazamachi, fracturing into two beings—herself and twin sister Kaguya—when a Sephira Crystal interacted with her stillborn twin's DNA during a life-saving intervention. This followed Yamai Kazamachi, a 17-year-old ordinary student, sacrificing herself to rescue a child from a vehicle collision. As her consciousness dimmed, the entity Mio implanted the crystal, inducing the split and erasing the original Yamai's identity. The twins manifested as Spirits unleashing cyclonic destruction upon Earth arrival.

Yuzuru stands 158 cm tall with orange tornado-twirled hair, mercury-blue eyes, and a curvier physique (B90/W61/H86) than Kaguya. Her bluish-purple Astral Dress features chains on her left hand and foot, accented by a small cape. Casually, she dons school uniforms or mature outfits contrasting Kaguya's gothic style. Fusing into their original Spirit form, Yamai Kazamachi, her height extends to 180 cm with unbraided hair and merged traits.

She communicates robotically, prefixing phrases with summary words like "Confirm: Shido." Her calm, analytical demeanor and poker face oppose Kaguya's volatility, often prompting sneers during disputes. Yet she mirrors Kaguya's playful rivalry and deep devotion. Both prioritized each other's survival during their existential struggle; Yuzuru demanded Shido Itsuka designate Kaguya as the "real Yamai," threatening his friends if he refused.

Their conflict spanned 99 battles (25 wins each, 49 draws) to establish dominance. The 100th clash pivoted to seducing Shido on a school trip, exposing their shared secret: neither desired to absorb the other. Overhearing each other's self-sacrificial pleas to Shido reignited fighting, halted only when Shido used Tohka Yatogami's Angel, Sandalphon, to intervene. He proposed sealing their powers to spare both lives. They accepted, kissing Shido simultaneously to relinquish their Spirit abilities. Their combined Angel, Raphael El Kanaph—a bow launching energy arrows—later obliterated the attacking airship <Arbatel>, proving latent power post-sealing.

After sealing, Yuzuru and Kaguya transferred to the class beside Shido's due to stabilized mental states. They adapted to human life, joining events like the Tenou Festival. There, Yuzuru played bass for Shido's band, utilizing past musical skills. Later, brainwashed by Spirit Miku Izayoi's Angel <Gabriel>, they assaulted Shido and Tohka before liberation. They then aided Tohka's rescue from DEM Industries, battling alongside Yoshino against Inverse Tohka. During this, they intercepted an attack targeting Shido, propelling him toward Tohka to secure her salvation.

Yuzuru manipulated wind via her Angel Raphael, materializing as chains (<Raphael>) for offense and defense. Combined with Kaguya's power, they wielded Raphael El Kanaph for mass destruction. Post-sealing, they retained limited Spirit capabilities, reactivating them in crises—shielding Miku or fighting DEM Wizards. Fusion into Yamai Kazamachi remained feasible but temporary.

Yuzuru's bond with Kaguya dictated her actions, from early self-sacrifice to later cooperation in human-Spirit conflicts. Her dynamic with Shido shifted from viewing him as a contest target to trusting him as their conflict's resolver, though she and Kaguya humorously claimed him as "shared possession" post-sealing. Pragmatic loyalty surfaced in actions like aiding Origami Tobiichi despite prior hostilities during Miku's brainwashing.
