Description
Loki, adoptive brother of Thor Odinson, was orphaned and raised as an Asgardian prince by Odin. Envy of Thor's favored status and personal ambition drove him to villainy, escalating after Odin denied him Asgard's throne. His schemes extended to Earth, making him a recurring adversary to Thor and the Avengers.

His core conflict ignited upon discovering the DISK technology, designed by Tony Stark and Dr. Nozomu Akatsuki to imprison supervillains. During a demonstration at the Raft prison, Loki orchestrated a mass breakout. He used the DISKs to trap key Avengers—Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, and Wasp—while freeing numerous villains. The chaos exposed five children, including Dr. Akatsuki's sons, to a damaged Biocode Installer, granting them limited power to summon the trapped heroes. Physical contact between Loki and one child caused the DISKs to scatter worldwide, forcing Loki and the children into a global hunt for them.

To advance his plans, Loki adopted the human identity of Senator Robert on the World Security Council. In this guise, he engineered Nick Fury's arrest, dismantled S.H.I.E.L.D., and pushed through the Superhuman Registration Act to hinder the Avengers. He captured Dr. Akatsuki, imprisoning him in an ice palace and coercing him to build a DISK power absorption system. This device let Loki steal abilities from multiple heroes and villains contained in DISKs, including Juggernaut, Diamondback, and the Avengers themselves. After acquiring these powers, he battled the Avengers directly, resulting in a dimensional tear that consumed both Loki and Dr. Akatsuki.

Loki later resurfaced as Dormammu's servant in the Dark Dimension, communicating with his human accomplices, the Celebrity Five, to orchestrate his return. He manipulated events to open a permanent gateway to Earth, flooding the world with dark energy to strengthen Dormammu. During the crisis, Loki infiltrated a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, spreading despair to empower Dormammu's forces and releasing hidden adversaries against the heroes. When this failed, he betrayed Dormammu, trapping him in a DISK and absorbing his powers to become nearly invincible. After a prolonged battle against the augmented Avengers and their Build Up Armors, Loki was defeated by an amplified attack from Iron Man and imprisoned within a DISK by the combined efforts of the heroes and allies.

Though imprisoned, circumstantial evidence suggested Loki retained influence, as the Celebrity Five were freed from the Dark Dimension three months after his defeat, implied to be his doing. His legacy of manipulation and chaos persisted despite his physical containment.
