Description
Ray Dawn served as one of the elite Seven Knights during the War of Unification, wielding the powerful fairy weapon Sororias, a spear with a three-point tip. Emperor Castal Harol appointed him Duke of Kal-o territory as one of five ruling dukes post-war. Ray eventually became the sole surviving duke after the execution of his peers for treason.
Before his rise, Ray orchestrated the massacre of Suna village, his homeland. He spearheaded a military operation that burned the settlement and exterminated its inhabitants, driven by his conviction that the villagers' innate ability to see fairy primordials without special equipment, combined with their fairy-possessed powers, posed an unacceptable threat. Only Marlya Noel and Veronica Thorn survived.
In the postwar era, Ray cultivated a calculated political presence. He attended war commemoration events and engaged figures like Golbarn Helwise and Schwarz Diese. When an assassination targeted Golbarn, Ray remained passive while Schwarz intervened. Later, he received Dorothea agents inspecting his fairy weapon and artificial fairy soldiers, recognizing Marlya's hatred and handing her a personal letter for the prime minister.
Ray demonstrated formidable combat prowess by intercepting Schwarz Diese in secret tunnels leading to the emperor. He effortlessly defeated Schwarz and his men using his fairy, dismissing questions about his loyalty before killing him, underscoring his independent agenda.
Following Golbarn Helwise's death, Ray traveled to Rondacia intending to relinquish his ducal title to become Prime Minister and stabilize Unified Zesskia, a transition approved by Emperor Castal Harol. Ray later summoned Marlya, probing her connection to her fairy, Ash Clad. He asserted fairies' voices should not dictate human actions, prioritizing the "voices of the people." Confronted about Suna, he coldly stated only he should possess fairy-possessed power and emphasized finding Veronica.
Ray faced repeated assassination attempts, including an Eins Order ambush rerouting his convoy. Beevee Liscar injured him during this attack, forcing his flight with Marlya and Robert Chase. They took refuge in a witness protection house; Robert departed for medical aid. Veronica arrived and engaged Ray in combat. Marlya intervened, arguing Ray harbored regret and citing his earlier choice to spare Veronica. Ray eventually offered Veronica an apology for the massacre. When Glyph Mercer attacked Veronica and Marlya, Ray summoned his fairy to intercept the attack before collapsing.
Eins Order captured Ray, extracted his fairy-possessed organ to resurrect the Divine Beast, resulting in his implied demise.
