OVA
Description
Joe entered life on November 8, 2142, on Planet Aramis within the Canis Major Zone. His mother, Yuria, died soon after his birth. His father, Crusher Dan, commanded the Crusher organization, a group specializing in legal troubleshooting assignments across space. Joe became a Crusher at age ten. In 2156, he rescued Dan during a spaceship salvage operation, an event leading to Dan's retirement. Joe succeeded his father as active leader and took command of the team's new ship, the Minerva.
Holding a Triple A Crusher rating, Joe intensely dislikes external authority and refuses orders from anyone except himself, including his father. He balances this trait with calmness and swift decision-making during crises. He is romantically involved with Alfin, a former princess who abdicated her royal status to join his team.
Joe's leadership involves hands-on problem-solving and strict adherence to the Crusher code, which forbids unethical or illegal assignments. In the OVA "The Ice Prison," his team is hired to prevent an ice asteroid prison from crashing into a planet. Demonstrating suspicion toward governmental motives, Joe uncovered a plot to eliminate political prisoners disguised as a rescue, prioritizing mission integrity and protecting innocent lives.
In the OVA "The Final Weapon: Ash," Joe accepted a covert mission from the president of Bandor to destroy a planet-killing bomb. This required navigating military corruption and preventing the weapon's misuse, showcasing his strategic acumen in neutralizing large-scale threats. Across missions, he coordinates his team—pilot Talos, engineer Ricky, navigator Alfin, and robot Dongo—leveraging their skills during combat, space dogfights, and mechanical challenges.
Joe's operational history includes conflicts with space pirates, like the Murphy pirate incident in 2161. He faced false accusations of space piracy from the United Space Force, working to clear his team's name through direct confrontation and evidence gathering on hostile planets like Lagol. His background as a young Crusher and succession of his father's legacy informs his protective stance toward his team and commitment to the organization's honor-based principles.
