Recovering, Ryu became a waitress at the pub, concealing her identity. Coworkers dyed her naturally golden-blonde hair green. She maintained a calm, stoic demeanor but gradually formed new bonds with the staff, especially Syr, whom she considered her second closest friend after Alise. Avoiding physical contact typical of elf customs, she nonetheless followed Alise's directive to not let go of any man who could grasp her hands. This later influenced her interactions with Bell Cranel, whom she met through Syr. Ryu reentered adventuring after Bell inadvertently involved her in his conflicts, like the War Game against Apollo Familia. Her most significant development came during a joint survival ordeal with Bell on the Dungeon's 37th Floor. Trapped and facing the Juggernaut—the monster that killed her Familia—Ryu confronted her trauma and survivor's guilt. Accumulated experience from years without status updates resulted in a historic double rank-up to Level 6. She later joined Hestia Familia under "Ryu Astraea," though an attempt to adopt "Cranel" as her surname was rebuffed by Hestia. Her abilities include exceptional speed, strength, and durability; mastery of concurrent chanting; and the unique skill "Astraea Record," accessing the magic of her deceased Astraea Familia comrades. Ryu's relationship with Syr faced turmoil when Syr was revealed as Goddess Freya in disguise. After Freya's defeat, Ryu secured her commitment to maintaining her Syr persona. Concurrently, Ryu confessed her love to Bell during the Freya Familia War Game but deferred his response, acknowledging his feelings for Ais Wallenstein. She remains a member of Hestia Familia while continuing part-time work at the Hostess of Fertility, balancing adventurer responsibilities with gratitude toward Mia and Syr.
