Description
Cacao studies magic at Micro-Grand Academy under Professor Ghana, defined by an unquenchable appetite that leaves him perpetually hungry with audible stomach growling. This hunger indirectly triggers major magical disruptions. During Ghana’s critical spellcasting, Cacao consumes a 200-year-old magical chocolate, inducing intoxication that impairs his judgment and motor control. This act disrupts a fairy summoning ritual, accidentally freeing the tree spirit Hinano, who inhabits a wooden marionette doll.

Afterward, Hinano moves into Cacao’s residence, sharing his living space and bed. She prepares his meals and displays protective devotion. Cacao reacts with initial reluctance and confusion to her presence and affections, though their dynamic evolves subtly through shared experiences. His magical interference extends further when another mishap transports a tribal boy named Almond into the city.

Professor Ghana identifies Cacao’s latent magical potential and persistently trains him, yet it remains unrealized due to Cacao’s laziness and inconsistent effort. His abilities surface unpredictably through involuntary triggers like chocolate consumption, causing uncontrolled outbursts that worsen chaos.

Beyond Hinano, Cacao befriends Sardine, a fellow student in the school defense force SMAT. He also faces rivalry from Truffle, heir to a chocolate conglomerate, who enrolls at the academy to pursue Hinano. Their conflicts occasionally escalate, but Cacao often prevails through accidental or chocolate-induced actions. While episodic adventures dominate, subtle progression emerges in his bond with Hinano. Later episodes show increased willingness to protect her, culminating in rescue efforts. His personality remains consistent—marked by laziness, hunger-driven choices, and reactive behavior—with minimal development beyond incremental shifts in his connection to Hinano.

No official sequels, films, OVAs, or spin-offs expand his background, as a planned second season was cancelled. His story is confined to the initial 20-episode series.
