Geld originated as prince of the Orc Kingdom of Orbic during a devastating famine. His father, the king, sacrificed himself, offering his flesh to save the people. Consuming his father triggered Geld's evolution into the Orc Lord, granting him the unique skill "Starved" (or "Hunger"). This skill enabled endless consumption, converting anything eaten into energy and allowing him to share powers from devoured monsters with his followers. Driven by desperation and manipulated by the majin Gelmud, who acted as a father figure, Geld led approximately 200,000 orcs in an invasion of the Jura Forest. His forces destroyed the Ogre Village and besieged the Lizardmen. After consuming Gelmud under duress, Geld evolved further into an Orc Disaster, a Demon Lord Seed. This transformation increased his size, reduced his pot-belly, and enhanced his regenerative abilities, though it diminished his mental capacity to near-animalistic levels. His campaign ended at the Lizardmen village, where Rimuru Tempest defeated and fully consumed him using "Predator." In his final moments, Geld expressed relief that Rimuru would carry his sins.
Following the Orc Lord's death, his son, also named Geld, became the last surviving Orc General. Representing the orcs in post-war negotiations, he begged Benimaru to execute him to atone for his people's actions. Rimuru Tempest spared him, bestowing the name "Geld" to facilitate his evolution into the Orc King, shifting the orcs' allegiance to Tempest. Geld Junior emerged as a serious, hardworking leader, appointed Minister of Infrastructure and commander of the Second Corps (later the Yellow and Orange Corps). He oversees defense logistics and major construction projects like roads and magic trains. His dedication sometimes manifests as workaholism, causing concern among allies. Initially plagued by self-doubt, he gradually grew into a more confident leader with Rimuru's support. He also joined Rimuru's Twelve Guardian Lords as the "Barrier Lord."
Geld Junior exhibits a strong sense of responsibility, loyalty, and a protective instinct, particularly toward children, often seen playing with them. He maintains a gentle demeanor with allies but shows ruthlessness toward enemies, adhering to Rimuru's principle of never betraying friends. His past hardships—famine, drought, and war—fuel a commitment to ensure no one in Tempest goes hungry. This resolve caused internal conflict when managing prisoners of war from Clayman's army; he initially treated them harshly but, after Rimuru's counsel, recognized their plight mirrored the orcs' past and began integrating them. He harbors lingering shame over the Ogre Village's destruction, as shown when he offered no resistance to Hiiro's vengeance in the movie "Scarlet Bond," requiring Benimaru's intervention.
In combat, Geld Junior possesses immense physical strength and endurance, capable of overwhelming towns or villages single-handedly. His abilities include earth manipulation, strength enhancement, and thought-based tactical manipulation of opponents. Initially wielding the unique skill "Gourmet"—a magical storage space for resource sharing—he later evolved into an Earth Spirit Deity (Divine Boar) after Rimuru shared a fragment of his soul. This ascension merged "Gourmet" and "Guardian" (which redirects damage from allies to himself) into the ultimate skill "Beelzebub, Lord of Gluttony." This power enables rotting enemies' bodies and spirits simultaneously and deploying large-scale defensive barriers. He coordinates seamlessly with his corps, moving them as a unified defensive front.
The movie "Scarlet Bond" explores Geld Junior's unresolved guilt. When Hiiro, a surviving ogre seeking retribution for his village's destruction, attacks the orcs, Geld drops his weapons and accepts death, stating his shame warranted no forgiveness. Benimaru intervenes, revealing Hiiro as a childhood friend, and mediates their reconciliation. Geld later participates in defending the Kingdom of Raja alongside other Tempest allies.
