Description
Originating from Arthurian legend as Cath Palug, Fou served as Merlin's familiar within Avalon's Garden until Merlin's eternal imprisonment caused his expulsion. In timelines where human civilization falters, this entity emerges as Primate Murder, linked to Altrouge Brunestud. Within Chaldea Security Organization's timeline, however, he accompanies Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash Kyrielight as Fou, journeying across historical eras.

Fou's true nature classifies him as a juvenile Beast IV, the Breed of Calamity embodying the Logos of "Comparison." This principle thrives upon human envy of others' strength and regret over personal weakness, enabling Fou to grow stronger by consuming these emotions and surpassing opponents. Without human civilization, he remains a harmless creature. Visually resembling a small, squirrel-like animal with white fur, he possesses colorful horns whose shifting size and hue hint at his latent nature. Despite this innocuous appearance, he acknowledges unchecked maturation would transform him monstrously.

He harbors deep resentment toward Merlin for his Avalon expulsion, attacking the mage on sight. Yet, Fou displays profound affection for Mash Kyrielight, occasionally making playful advances. His personality blends animal simplicity with traces of complexity from past associations.

Key developments include his role in the North American Myth War, where Merlin temporarily channeled power through him against Cú Chulainn Alter. At Solomon's Temple of Time's climax, Fou revealed his Beast IV identity to resurrect Mash after her sacrifice. This act consumed most of his accumulated magical energy and sapience, reducing him to an ordinary animal while granting Mash a normal lifespan. Despite this, Fou later demonstrated retained communication abilities, relaying information to Cavall II in Shinjuku and warning Mash in her dreams during the Ordeal Call saga.

Fou's abilities encompass performing miracles beyond magic, including the complete resurrection of the dead under specific conditions, as shown with Mash. His "Comparison" ability lets him absorb competitive human emotions to grow stronger. He also exhibits unique capabilities: breaching the Chains of Heaven, entering Nega-Genesis to aid against Tiamat, and sensing threats like U-Olga Marie before advanced detection systems.

His later appearances show selective involvement: avoiding travel to the Avalon le Fae Lostbelt in Britain, disappearing within the South American Lostbelt to evade ORT, and remaining aboard the Storm Border during the Ordeal Call, signaling his continued, albeit diminished, connection to unfolding events.
