Description
Crocco commands the airship *Quin Zaza* as navigator and de facto captain, prioritizing task efficiency over hierarchy. Fifteen years before the central narrative, the original *Quin Zaza* was obliterated by the dragon Typhon, leaving the captain presumed dead and scattering the surviving crew. Defying assumptions of the captain’s fate, Crocco rebuilt the vessel using a loan from the Subamara Company—pledging the ship’s log as collateral—and reluctantly incorporated Lee, the company heir, into the crew to distance the young man from criminal ties.

His leadership blends hands-on navigation with Capella, the helmswoman, and strategic delegation to balance crew dynamics. A constant cigarette anchors his blue-collar affectation, though he stubs them out during high-stakes scenarios to sharpen focus.

The crew’s pursuit of a secondary core ballast draws them to the Milshah Islands, where rumors of the original *Quin Zaza*’s ghostly reappearance mask a deeper truth. Investigating the spectral sightings, Crocco confronts his unresolved trauma from Typhon’s attack, only to discover the phenomena stem from the wreck’s dormant automated protocols, not the lost captain’s spirit. This dismantles his guilt, freeing him to invest wholly in his current crew.

His arc shifts from fixating on the past to forging the ship’s future, merging operational stewardship with emotional resolve. The phantom ship’s dismantling becomes pivotal, symbolizing his transition from haunted survivor to grounded leader, committed to the *Quin Zaza*’s enduring legacy.
