Description
Yomi debuted as a playable character in *Senran Kagura: Portrait of Girls*. Growing up impoverished in urban slums, she witnessed her parents die from financial hardship, fostering intense resentment toward those perceived as privileged. This hatred focused on Ikaruga after Yomi saw Ikaruga's foster father donate overseas while neglecting domestic poverty. She later discovered her parents saved money for her well-being, which she donated to support impoverished Japanese children.

Initially enrolled in Hebijo Clandestine Girls' Academy's elite class, Yomi undertook missions against Hanzō Academy, including an attempt to steal their Super-Secret Ninja Art Scroll. During confrontations, she repeatedly battled Ikaruga, citing class-based animosity. Their rivalry persisted until a pivotal fight where Ikaruga revealed her own adoptive past, prompting Yomi to reconsider her prejudices. Though initially resistant, Yomi gradually developed mutual respect with Ikaruga, culminating in genuine friendship.

After defecting from Hebijo, Yomi joined Homura's Crimson Squad as a renegade shinobi. She balances courteous, motherly care toward allies with aggressive taunting of enemies, especially those from affluent backgrounds. Yomi maintains a signature obsession with bean sprouts, cultivating them and incorporating them into her cooking. This fixation led to an existential crisis when she temporarily grew weary of them, resolved through a cooking tournament where she reaffirmed her dedication to bean sprout-based cuisine.

In combat, Yomi wields a broadsword with an integrated chainsaw mechanism and ranged weaponry like wrist-mounted crossbows and cannons. Her techniques draw inspiration from Norse mythology, including Ninja Arts named "Sigmund," "Niflheim," "Asgard," and "Ragnarök." She specializes in wind-based attacks and heavy, ground-crushing strikes, though slower opponents challenge her effectiveness.

Within the OVA *Senran Kagura: Estival Versus – Festival Eve Full of Swimsuits*, Yomi appears with the Crimson Squad at a spa resort. Consuming excessive complimentary food rendered her unable to participate in a water cavalry battle. Haruka searched Yomi's medical bag for remedies, discovering paralytic drugs, experimental growth serums, and a samba-inducing substance, though none addressed her condition. The bag's contents later enabled Ryōna's accidental transformation into a giant during combat against Kuroku enemies.
