Description
Ai Mizuno, born March 7, 1992, rose to prominence as the driven leader of the 2000s idol group Iron Frill, achieving milestones like performing at Budokan before her career halted abruptly at age 16. On August 4, 2008, during a storm-soaked concert in Saga, a lightning strike ended her life, cementing her public memory as a tragic figure rather than a celebrated artist.

Revived a decade later as a bandage-swaddled zombie masking lightning-scarred skin, she reluctantly joined Franchouchou, initially dismissing manager Kotaro’s ambitions as delusional. Drawing from her Iron Frill experience, she shaped the group’s technical foundation, drilling members in precise choreography and vocal techniques. Her pragmatic vision frequently conflicted with Junko Konno’s nostalgic Showa-era idealism, sparking debates over idol evolution.

Decades-old trauma resurfaced as paralyzing astraphobia, culminating in a Saga Rock performance where thunderstorms triggered a collapse mid-song. Supported by Junko’s steadying presence, she channeled Franchouchou’s lightning-resistant undead biology into a defiant spectacle—weaving crackling electricity into their act, transforming vulnerability into theatrical triumph.

Once fixated on surpassing past glory, she gradually prioritized Franchouchou’s unity, rebuffing an Iron Frill reunion to safeguard her newfound family. She tempered Sakura Minamoto’s enthusiasm with strategic realism, partnered with Saki Nikaido to navigate industry hurdles, and devised workarounds for Tae Yamada’s unpredictable antics. As the group’s fame grew, she balanced caution against public exposure with fierce advocacy for members’ personal battles, including Lily Hoshikawa’s emotional reunion with her father.

Her journey closed by embracing duality: a Heisei idol memorializing her cut-short legacy through Franchouchou’s grassroots-driven identity, proving resilience could forge a legacy louder than tragedy.
