Description
Rizu Ogata is a third-year high school student at Ichinose Academy, a prodigy in mathematics and science but facing significant struggles in humanities and arts. Standing 143 cm tall with light brown hair and blue eyes, she requires glasses for severe nearsightedness, occasionally using contact lenses. Her family runs an udon restaurant where she assists, wearing a kimono and apron. Her height has remained consistent since elementary school, but her physical development continued, with a bust size noted as 91 cm (F/G cup in high school, increasing to H cup by college). Her typical attire includes seasonal school uniforms; she avoids sleeveless clothing due to thin arms lacking muscle tone.

She maintains a predominantly stoic, poker-faced demeanor, though emotions surface when happy or distressed. Nicknamed "Clockwork Thumbelina" for her analytical prowess, she approaches human emotions and social interactions scientifically, often misunderstanding feelings or contextual nuances. This extends to difficulties expressing appreciation to friends like Sawako Sekijou. She exhibits determination and stubbornness, particularly in pursuing university psychology studies to comprehend emotions—a divergence from her STEM strengths. Despite her logical mindset, she harbors timid tendencies, such as fearing horror movies despite rejecting superstitions. Her childhood was influenced by her grandmother; her grandmother's death led Rizu to misinterpret being disliked, resolved later when reconnecting with friends through games.

Academically, Rizu seeks to study psychology, initially motivated by a desire to understand human behavior, later adjusting her reasons through development. She studies while eating udon, a habit tied to her family's business. Interpersonally, she experiences jealousy toward Fumino Furuhashi's intuitive grasp of emotions and initial indifference toward Sawako, whom she gradually accepts despite discomfort with Sawako's intense admiration.

Her relationship with tutor Nariyuki Yuiga begins with dislike, perceiving him as dismissive of her goals; she accepts his help after noting his detailed study notes. An accidental kiss with him in the forest sparks romantic feelings, though she remains unaware initially. She later refers to him more familiarly, shifting from "Yuiga-san" to "Nariyuki-san." Rizu collaborates with Nariyuki to reconcile Sawako with her parents, strengthening their bond.

In broader dynamics, she knows Fumino before the series and Uruka Takemoto through tutoring. She clashes with teacher Mafuyu Kirisu over academic philosophy—Mafuyu prioritizes natural talent, while Rizu insists on pursuing psychology despite her humanities weaknesses. Her hobbies include board and card games, though she consistently loses due to an inability to strategize against others. Trivia notes her role as Nariyuki's first kiss, her poor gaming skills, and her nearsightedness.

Her development culminates in reconciling her grandmother's legacy, embracing friendships, and solidifying her academic and romantic paths. In her dedicated ending, she and Nariyuki support Sawako's familial reconciliation and become a couple.
