TV-Series
Description
Robin Hood, born Robert Huntington and heir to his noble family, flees to Sherwood Forest after Baron Alwyn orchestrates his parents' murder and the destruction of their castle. Accompanied by cousins Will, Winifred, and Jenny, he finds refuge with bandits led by a man calling himself Big John (later Little John). Robin earns acceptance and eventually commands the group.
His archery fluctuates dramatically, yielding both crucial failures and successes. Often lacking strategic intelligence, he frequently escapes predicaments through luck or outside intervention. Robin's driving force is protecting Marian Lancaster, a noble heiress targeted by Baron Alwyn and Bishop Hartford for her family's wealth and the supernatural golden cross pendant she wears. This Lancaster heirloom possesses mystical powers over space, time, and nature, becoming a focal point of conflict. Robin's protective stance towards Marian deepens into mutual love, leading to an offscreen engagement.
Robin's journey involves confronting antagonists who later switch allegiance. Baron Alwyn, his parents' killer, experiences a brief redemption after a near-fatal event but ultimately reverts, plotting to seize the throne. Greed-driven Bishop Hartford transitions to aiding Robin. Sir Gilbert, a knight initially hunting Robin to avenge a facial scar, shifts his loyalty after Marian heals him, eventually serving King Richard. Gilbert's sister Cleo also abandons her vendetta upon learning the truth.
Robin unites forest outlaws and oppressed citizens to counter Alwyn's coup, restoring King Richard. His actions result in Alwyn's imprisonment, the redemption of his family's honor, and his recognition as a hero. His story concludes with a commitment to Marian and restored social standing, marking a resolution to his struggles.
