TV-Series
Description
Natsumi Suzuhara is Yuusuke Kamoshita's classmate and his initial romantic interest. An athletic diver, she is frequently observed practicing through the school diving complex window. Her personality is serious, and she is initially dismissive of Yuusuke, perceiving his actions as perverted.
Her background is marked by family trauma following the death of her older brother, Fuyuki Suzuhara. After this loss, she places her brother's best friend, an older glasses-wearing man named Kai, into a brotherly role, relying on him emotionally.
Throughout the series, Natsumi encounters an entity she believes is her deceased brother in angelic form. These interactions are later revealed to involve Raphael, an angel with a single wing, who is the manifestation of Fuyuki after death. Raphael is typically invisible to humans, but Natsumi shares a unique, perceptible connection with him rooted in their familial bond.
Natsumi's attitude toward Yuusuke shifts over time; despite her initial aversion, she gradually develops an attraction to him, adding complexity to the narrative's central romantic tensions.
Psychologically, she carries unresolved grief and an intense fixation on her brother, influencing her emotional availability. This manifests as an obsession, seen when she pleads with Raphael not to leave her, echoing abandonment fears stemming from Fuyuki's death. Her struggles with attachment connect to broader themes of loss and supernatural connections.
Her ability to see Raphael, unlike most characters, highlights her connection to the story's spiritual elements and positions her as a bridge between ordinary human experiences and the supernatural events surrounding Noelle's quest for angelhood.
Personality-wise, she maintains a composed and rational demeanor, often considering herself one of the few sane individuals amidst the chaotic events involving Noelle's family, underscoring her pragmatic approach.
